August 21 2014:

Hi everyone,
I hope that you are all doing well.
My friend Vashti Quiroz-Vega invited me to participate in a writing process blog.  Vashti is a fictional writer and you can read about her and her work in her blog:
http://vashtiqvega.wordpress.com/about-the-author/
Check out her horror book, meant for teens, entiled The Basement.  I personally gave it a 5 star rating.  :)

RULES:

  1. Introduce who referred the blog tour to you.
  2.  Answer the following 4 questions:

1) What am I working on?

2) How does my work differ from others in its genre?

3) Why do I write what I do?

4) How does my writing process work?

  1. Introduce the people you're passing this on to who will then post a week later.

Here are my answers to the writing process blog tour questions:

1) What am I working on?

These days i mostly concentrate on short stories for publication in anthologies and magazines.  I am also in the process on polishing up my novella Really Not Alone, which is the sequel to my feel good book Not Alone.  This fall, i will be releasing the special editon of my horror novel Just.Another.Common.Killer, which will include my new short story "Mary Kelly's Diary"

2) How does my work differ from others in its genre?

I dont follow rules.  I write what comes to mind and how I would like to read a story.

3) Why do I write what I do?

I write a bit of everything so that everyone can enjoy at least one of my fictional or true stories.  Plus, I don't like to be confined so I use all the inspiration that comes to me.

4) How does my writing process work?

I get a general idea and sit at my laptop typing away, sometimes without really knowing where a story will go.  The more I write, the more things fall into place.  I then read my draft over and add things.  I do this a few times until i am happy with the content and then I go over  it again to check for spelling and grammar as well as the general flow...I have somebody proofread my work and make the necessary corrections when the manuscript is handed back.  In some cases, corections are automatically done for me.

I will be inviting many of my author friends to join this tour, including my favorite indie authors Jennifer Loiske and Jane McBride as well as Amber Royce whom I have worked with on a compilation book.  :)
